Entering the world of Dota @ Dota2 : Part 1

Entering the world of Dota @ Dota2 : Part 1

Hello everyone my name is Tommy, and this is my first time writing a blog. A as you can see this blog is going to be about Dota2. I’ve been playing Dota for several years 7-8 years. I haven’t been playing competitively though. But just a few days ago I decided to quit, cause I don’t have time to play with all my senior projects and stuff and sometimes playing gets me stress. So I decided to write a blog about one of my most favorite things. And hopefully my 7-8 years of experience can help the newer and younger generations of people become an expert in dota. So that’s my story in a nutshell.
If you’re new to dota you obviously do not know what it is. Dota is considered a MOBA which is a multiplayer online battle arena. The sides are separated into two sides the Radiant and the Dire. The Radiant is the “good” affiliation and the Dire is the “bad” affiliation. The purpose of the game is to destroy the other side’s ancient.
Now so how do we destroy the other side’s ancient? The game is a battle arena with 101 heroes. Each team may have up to 5 heroes present in the battlefield. Each hero has four unique skills that are used to destroy the other team. Consisting of 3 regular skills which can be leveled to a max level of 4 and an ultimate skill which can only be leveled to a maximum level of 3, however heroes also have stats or attributes which goes towards their strength, agility, and intelligence. Stats can be leveled to maximum level of 10. Each level of stats gives 2 into each respectable attributes. Overtime heroes’ gain experience, heroes start at lvl 1 and max out at lvl 25. Each hero has their own roles, but one hero can have many roles depending on their skill set or items you get for them. Heroes have to acquire gold. I will write about that in another blog or else it is going to be too long. Now I mentioned before that there are three attributes in the game strength, agility, and intelligence.
Each points of strength gives a hero 19 health points, 0.03 hp regeneration and 1 base damage for strength heroes.
Each points of agility gives a hero 1 % attack speed, 0.14 armor and 1 base damage for agility heroes.
Each points of intelligence gives a hero 13 mana points, 0.04 mana regeneration and 1 base damage for intelligence heroes.
Strength heroes are the natural tanks due to their high health points. Agility heroes are the natural carry due to their fast attack speed. Intelligence heroes are the natural casters with their high mana points their able to unleash spells across the battlefields. But being a strength hero doesn’t mean that hero can’t support. It really depends on their skill sets or how you level up that hero. So that’s your so called “heroes”. On my next blog I’ll talk about something less important but still a major aspect of dota “creeps”.
